The fire department responds to various different calls in our community such as fire, medical, hazardous materials, and rescue emergencies.
We accept applications year-round, and our next firefighter recruitment process will begin in mid-fall.
Qualifications & requirements
The fire department provides training to prepare candidates with practical firefighting skills.
The department covers the cost of training. Transportation and other personal expenses are the responsibility of the applicant.
Successful candidates provide the following requirements:
- Proof of valid driver’s licence
- Vulnerable sector screening
- Physician’s letter
- Firefighter Physical Aptitude Testing (FPAT)
- Firefighter code of ethics
- Return of company property agreement
- Return for service agreement
